Nick Chandler is an accomplished musician and songwriter and has been playing piano since he was small. Performing regularly with a variety of local musicians, you'll find Nick playing a range of styles from blues and boogie-woogie, through jazz, funk, rock & roll, pop, country, Big Band...anything as long as it's fun and everyone is having a good time!

Nick can be seen playing solo piano shows - these can be acoustic performances, request shows, or with backing track accompaniment - but quite often a combination of all three...!

Nick also has several duo partners, performing with guest vocalists and musicians, besides his own 5-piece band....which is available as a trio or quartet for smaller events.

The Nick Chandler Band

After too many years on the back burner - 2013 saw the introduction of the Nick Chandler Band!

The band has been evolving since then, and has gained a reputation for playing shows that are fun, with a refreshingly diverse set list. Led by Nick at the piano, the band strive to play a mix of well known songs, though not necessarily the ones that you hear all the time.

You'll hear plenty of good time rock & roll, boogie-woogie, along with a mix of old and new rock and pop songs - tracks from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Elton John, sit alongside Prince, Bruno Mars, Florence + the Machine, & Avicii - literally something for everyone!

Other Current Projects:

In addition, Nick can be seen playing piano & keyboards regularly with The Damiain Lodrick Band - a party & function band that guarantees a good night, delivering "an electrifying mix of rock, pop, soul, and everything else in-between".

Nick is also working on a new project for 2017 - a double-headed piano show featuring Nick and regular second piano player in the band, Duncan Baxter. Drawing on their experiences playing in America, the guys play a mix of blues, boogie, and rock & roll tracks, inspired by the likes of Dr. John, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jools Holland - and infused with the spirit of the American South and the great piano players.

The ambition is to grow this into a full-size New Orleans-style band - watch this space!

Previous Projects:

Split Sixty [formerly ProjectBNA] - were an acoustic/electric band, Portsmouth based, playing a mix of popular covers and original material.

Nick has recorded with Jazz/Funk band "Mosey".

The popular Country music outfit The Dudesville Honky Tonkers, aka The Dudesville Rock 'n' Roll Band have taken a break from performing - but if you see them, expect to see Nick playing some swinging honky-tonk piano!

Not so long ago Nick was regularly playing with singer/songwriter Herbie Armstrong - having previously retired from the industry, in 2011 Herbie reached the semi-finals of ITV's "Britain's Got Talent". The TV programme brought about the release of a new album, with some newly recorded tracks where Nick plays piano. The album "Real Real Gone" is available on iTunes.

At the beginning of 2015 Nick stepped down as the full time piano player with the fabulous Hampshire party band, The Cheese Doctors.
